Graduate Credit

All participants will be required to enroll in a 3-credit graduate course, EDC 840, offered through Clemson University during Summer School 2008. All costs for summer admission to the University and tuition/fees for the course are included in the total Study Abroad Program Costs (see Registration for details on costs).

All participants will be expected to participate in on-line introduction and orientation activities prior to departure. The course will include limited preliminary readings and study prior to departure, full participation in the Study in Ireland, plus a major paper. Professionals, of non-student status, will be expected to meet all course requirements including the readings and study materials prior to departure, full participation in the Study in Ireland, as well as an alternative project in lieu of the major paper. It is anticipated this course may serve as an elective or substitute for required credits in most Master's and Doctoral programs in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, and related areas. However, credit transfer and acceptance must be approved by the faculty of each academic program and is the responsibility of the student to acquire. Students must seek approval from their graduate academic advisor.

For further information and/or instructions on how to proceed with academic credit, contact Dr. Pam Havice (havice@clemson.edu) 864-656-5121 at Clemson University. Dr. Havice will be the professor for the course.
