Master of Human Resource Development

   

OVERVIEW

The Master of Human Resource Development degree is designed for in-career professionals who wish to advance their standing within the profession. Taught by both practitioners and academicians, this unique program provides working professionals with an opportunity to earn an advanced degree from a highly respected institution that is at the forefront of the profession.

 

The MHRD program includes 36 semester credit hours of course work. You are admitted in the Fall semester and are expected to complete the program in two years.

 

  • All courses in this program are delivered through distance education technologies.
  • Admitted students must register for two courses each semester.

 

Admission Requirements

For admission, individuals must have:

 

A. Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution

B. At least three years of full time work experience

C. Admission to the Clemson Graduate School

 

        • To be considered for admission to the Graduate School candidates must submit:
        • Online application ($55.00 application fee)
          • Degree-seeking candidates must select program code 327 (Human Resource Development) on the online application form
        • Official transcripts
          • Transcripts are required from prior institutions from which a degree was awarded and from which transfer credit is desired (preferred GPR of 3.00)
        • Two recommendations (one from immediate/prior supervisor)
          • Recommendation forms may be sent to recommenders electronically from online application or you may download a PDF recommendation form to send to your recommenders to complete and return to the Graduate School
        • Competitive GRE scores
          • Competitive scores are required for admissions for degree-seeking candidates. Scores are considered holistically with applicant's background and potential success in graduate school
          • For more information on registering for the GRE, please visit the GRE website
          • Applicants for whom English is a second language must also submit acceptable TOEFL score
    • Complete the on-line Keirsey Temperament Sorter®-II and CampbellT Interest and Skill Survey®.
      • To take these online assessments go to http://www.keirseycampbell.com/ and then click on Purchase Here. Use the promotion code (CLEMS0323) to have your scores for both assessments sent to the MHRD admissions committee at Clemson University. A nominal fee is charged for these assessments.

 

If requested by the program coordinator, an interview may be required prior to an admissions decision.

 

The application deadline is July 1 . Only complete application packets will be considered for admission. Applications will be reviewed only once a year.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Technology Requirements:

 

You need access to e-mail and the Internet and the ability to read a CD-ROM or DVD. You also need current versions of the operating system, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Since these courses involve sending and receiving large files of information, you will need a computer, web cam, microphone, and DSL or high-speed internet connection.
