Eta Sigma Gamma

Eta Sigma Gamma is the national professional honorary organization for Health Science/Health Education. The principal purpose of Eta Sigma Gamma is to elevate the standards, ideals, competence, and ethics of professionally trained individuals in the Health Education discipline.

The objective of Eta Sigma Gamma is to further the professional competence and dedication of the individual members in and for the Health Education discipline and the promotion of this discipline by stimulating scientific research; facilitating communication and discussion between individuals, agencies, and governmental jurisdictions through the exchange of practices and philosophies; motivating and recognizing service and academic achievement; developing methods, materials, and programs; and raising professional standards and ethics.

Individual students may be considered for membership after having completed two or more semesters of college work leading toward a degree in Health Science. In addition to the above requirements for membership, each candidate must earn a grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 grade point system) to be eligible for election into the chapter.
