TWO-STEP TUBERCULOSIS SKIN TEST (PPD) All Health Science students must have a two-step tuberculosis skin test before they begin their internship. If the test indicates a positive reading, a chest x-ray is required. If the chest x-ray is also positive, the student will not be allowed to begin fieldwork until the appropriate medical treatment has taken place. The cost of this test and any treatment is the responsibility of the student. Please be advised that the results are only valid for one year. Some sites require this to have been administered no longer than 30 days prior to internship start date. Check with your site as to their specific requirements. VACCINATION INFORMATION Please be advised that some internship sites do require the Hepatitis B vaccine, and other vaccinations, of all their employees and interns. It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of the internship site’s vaccination requirements, and plan accordingly. DRUG SCREENING Add information about Drug Screening here. BACKGROUND CHECK Add information on Background Check here. Please contact Kathleen Meyer with any questions. |
