NIAAA
COPPERATIVE AGREEMENT GRANT AWARD
Dr. Hugh D. Spitler
was awarded a National Institute for
Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse Rapid Response Cooperative agreement
grant. This NIAAA
funding mechanism partners Clemson University
with the NIAAA
and senior research faculty from Wake Forest
University in a collaborative effort to develop more affective programs
and interventions to control college student alcohol abuse at Clemson
University. This three year project will involve collaboration between
a Program Advisory Committee at Clemson
formed by Dr. Spitler, and Dean of Students,
the Redfern Student Health
Center, the Vice President for Student Services, and key administrators
in the areas of student housing and judicial services, a NIAAA
Satff Collaborator, and senior research faculty at Wake
Forest University who have received a Cooperative Agreement Partnership
grant connected with this funding mechanism. The total funds requested
for this grant over the three year period was for $580,000.
