NIAAA COPPERATIVE AGREEMENT GRANT AWARD

Dr. Hugh D. Spitler was awarded a National Institute for Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse Rapid Response Cooperative agreement grant. This NIAAA funding mechanism partners Clemson University with the NIAAA and senior research faculty from Wake Forest University in a collaborative effort to develop more affective programs and interventions to control college student alcohol abuse at Clemson University. This three year project will involve collaboration between a Program Advisory Committee at Clemson formed by Dr. Spitler, and Dean of Students, the Redfern Student Health Center, the Vice President for Student Services, and key administrators in the areas of student housing and judicial services, a NIAAA Satff Collaborator, and senior research faculty at Wake Forest University who have received a Cooperative Agreement Partnership grant connected with this funding mechanism. The total funds requested for this grant over the three year period was for $580,000.
