What Is Distance Education?
Distance Education refers to courses that necessitate separation, either time or place, between the teacher and the students. At Clemson University, this includes courses that use a variety of distance education technologies such as satellite broadcast, videoconferencing, audio/videotape, CD-ROM/DVD, Internet/Web, and print materials. It also includes courses taught at off-campus sites such as the University Center of Greenville. All HEHD distance education courses are coordinated through the HEHD Office of Distance Education.
