Italian Study abroad
Maymester in Italy provides a deep and memorable cross-cultural experience that exposes participants to Italian culture and to the innovative and highly regarded approaches to education in Italy. Education students who are selected to participate will live with an Italian host family for the duration of the program, which is primarily field based with school placements ranging from preschool through secondary.
Students work in the classrooms during the mornings, completing individual and group assignments, then meet frequently in the afternoon for whole group activities.
Some free time is allowed for travel with families and limited independent travel to nearby cities such as Bologna, Montova, and Modena, along with group excursions to Venice and Florence. For more information on this program, please either view our Italian Study Abroad Website or contact Dr. David Reinking.
Maymester in Baku, Azerbaijan

Elementary students in Baku, Azerbaijan
2009 is the pilot year for this exceptional study abroad program based in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Baku, the capital city of the former Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan, is a city of approximately 2 ½ million residents and is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea. Students in this study abroad program will be placed in a classroom with Azeri teachers and students in schools in Baku.
Education field experiences can be met through field placements available from grades 1 through 11. This program provides a rare opportunity for an authentic and meaningful global experience through exposure to a post-Soviet era educational system.
An electronic brochure is also available.
