The Academic Advising Center
The HEHD Academic Advising Center was organized to assist undergraduate students in the college with a variety of academic services. Academic advisors are available to assist freshmen, sophomore, change of major, and transfer students. Academic advisement, course selection, transferability of courses, and completion of various academic forms take place in this office.
For Education majors, the HEHD Academic Advising Center is responsible for maintaining EEE/PPST, PKE, and NTE scores and for reviewing each student's record for admittance to the professional level of the Teacher Education Program. In addition, the office processes student recommendation forms for teacher certification and forwards these forms to the Office of Professional Development at the SC State Department of Education. Signature approval for the South Carolina Teacher Loan Program may be obtained through this office.
Academic advisors are also available to meet with prospective students considering various majors within the College. Prospective students are encouraged to make appointments with an advisor in their intended major.
