Message from the Chairman,
Welcome to the Clemson University Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management website! I am very pleased to present a few of the many things that are going on in our busy academic department. Our faculty, staff and students are engaged in a variety of endeavors that make it nearly impossible to list them all – from our innovative curriculum and five emphasis areas in our undergraduate degree program to our internationally recognized graduate program – from our work in the South Carolina Low Country to projects in Africa, Europe and the Caribbean – from our Executive Development Program to the Outdoor Lab – from our work with child development to research in Glacier National Park – there is a lot going on.
Therefore, please explore all we have to offer. If you cannot find something or someone, or if you have a question that we can help answer, please take the time to contact us. Hospitality is more than a buzzword at Clemson; it is something we practice. And, since this website is an extension of what we would offer you in person, please know that your visit is always welcome!

It is with profound sadness we report the passing of our friend and colleague, Dr. Judith E. Voelkl. Her laughter and intellect engaged us. Her courage and spirit inspired us. We will miss her. (obituary)
