The Consortium is a powerful force for the development and promotion of tourism in South Carolina. It comprises four of South Carolina's leading universities and the State’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. It is a collaborative venture that helps provide our communities, the State and the business sector with a wealth of information, resources and technical expertise for identifying, analyzing, mapping, developing and marketing the State’s tourism assets to the rest of the nation and the world.

The combined resources of the Consortium in terms of expertise, library holdings, networking capabilities and technical/computer support services
are unsurpassed. We have some of the nation’s leading industry experts, scholars and researchers on board and our combined experience in the field, especially in collaborative projects with government, community and the business sector give us a competitive edge that few organizations are able to match.
