Leisure Skills - Inland Kayak Touring

Course Description

The purpose of this course is to teach the basic skills necessary to safely enjoy flatwater kayaking. Students will learn about equipment, paddle strokes, safety, rescue techniques, stroke efficiency, touring endurance and more.

1. To demonstrate knowledge and skills about kayaks and equipment used
2. To demonstrate knowledge and skills about kayaks and equipment used
3. To perform self-rescues and assisted rescues
4. To demonstrate skills in the various strokes to paddle for distance.
