Laboratory and Classroom Animal Training :: Rabbits

Rabbits used in Clemson laboratories are from an approved vendor list and are monitored as to health status.  However, rabbits are susceptible to infections with various bacterial pathogens.  Common signs of illness in rabbits include: nasal or ocular discharge, inflamed conjunctiva, head tilt, scabs in ears, poor appetite, diarrhea and lethargy.  These should be reported immediately to the veterinarian.
